Runway Rehabilitation and Overlay
Albany Municipal Airport, Albany, Oregon
Improvements to the Albany Municipal Airport under an FAA AIP Grant included rehabilitation and overlay of Runway 16-34, rehabilitation of connector taxiways, the construction of paved blast pads, and the replacement of aging taxiway guidance signs.
Working with the City of Albany, the contractors, and the airport users, project construction was scheduled to accommodate the annual Art & Air Festival at the Airport with no adverse impact on the construction schedule or budget.
Other associated work items included an underdrain system for pavement sections, remarking all freshly paved surfaces, associated electrical improvements, and runway safety area grading improvements.
